cellochan Policy Guidelines 2012-2013

Welcome to cellochan!

The payment schedule for 2012/2013 is as follows:

There are 35 lessons during the academic year with five payments a year at two-month intervals. Payments are due: September 1, November 1, January 1, March 1, and May 1. * See lesson weekly dates below.

A fee of $26 per concert is due for each formal concert to cover hall rental and accompanist fees. Concert participation is optional but highly encouraged. All cellochan events and opportunities are included in your payment with the exceptions of: Outside events such as concerts we attend as a group, master classes I give outside cc or performances of mine, or other events not part of the regular calendar.

LESSON FEES:

1/2 hour lessons: 7 lesson payment: $322 ($46 per)
3/4 hour lessons: 7 lesson payment: $392 ($56 per)
1-hour lessons: 7 lesson payment: $462 ($66 per)

Weekly payments will result in a higher rate:
1/2-hour lesson - $49
3/4-hour lesson - $59
1-hour lesson - $69
(When two students from the same family participate in cellochan, the second student's cost per lesson is reduced by $10 per. )

* Summer lesson information will be available in the spring of 2013.

CHAMBER ENSEMBLES:

Cello ensemble is offered each semester when enrollment is met. There will be two groups available.

Group 1 — Beginner/Intermediate.

Group 2 — Advanced. Ensembles perform at least twice a year, venues to be announced, and are open to students in and outside of cellochan. Contact Suzanne at: cellochan3b@gmail.com or 734-662-2325

COST: First Semester ~ 7 rehearsals. $175 Due Oct 1, 2012. Second Semester = 10 rehearsals. $ 250 Due Jan 1, 2013. Missing more than 3 rehearsals a semester will result in being dropped from the group.

Lesson cancellations, makeups, & refund policy:

1. Please contact me with any lesson makeup requests via email rather than in passing at your lesson. This helps with organization. Available make up days will be posted on the events calendar at the cellochan website.
2. Severe Weather: If severe weather is the cause of a cancellation you are due a makeup lesson.
3. Changing your regular lesson time to a new regular time: You may find it necessary to change your regular time at some point during the year. However, please try to choose a lesson time that you can commit to as changing your lesson time will be challenging due to a full class.
4. Teacher Cancellation: If for any reason I have to cancel a lesson I will make every effort to make it up. If that is not possible, you will receive a refund.
5. Students leaving cellochan are responsible for payment through their last lesson only. Any lessons paid for, but not used, will be refunded.
6. There will be a $20 late fee charged for lesson payments over 7 days late. Please mail your check or deliver by hand at your lesson.
